After completing the preparation steps, you can continue in the Lumi HL2 Application. Open your verified 3D patient and start the EVD panel:

Select 3D patient (top part) in the 3D patient menu

Select EVD Procedure

The EVD panel opens and the 3D patient is rotated

Plan EVD Trajectory​​

The 3D patient is rotated with the top of the head towards the user
-
An EVD line is shown in the head of the 3D patient
-
Drag the entry and target point of the EVD line to the desired locations
-
Press Done if you are satisfied with your planned EVD line
Options:

Show Scan: shows you the scan and the 3D patient at the same time, this allows you to check and confirm your planned EVD line

Moveable Component: lets you choose which component you want to move; the EVD line or the 3D patient

+ Add EVD Line: allows you to add another EVD line, in case the patient needs a left and right EVD​​​

​Plan Anatomical Landmarks on 3D Patient

The 3D patient is rotated to face the user

Place at least 6 anatomical landmarks on the 3D patient

Tip: use the x0.1 mode to precisely position the anatomical landmark​

Press Done if you are satisfied with the placed landmarks
Options:

+ Add Landmark: lets you add landmarks.

Tip: we recommend you to plan at least 6 anatomical landmarks on the 3D patient, the image in the panel shows you 6 generally suitable landmarks.

Tip: place 1 landmark at the time. Only if you are satisfied with the placed landmark, continue with adding another landmark. Only the last placed landmark is edittable.

Tip: the panel shows you how many landmarks you have placed already

Edit All: allows you to edit all landmarks. All landmarks become edittable and removable

Tip: be careful when in Edit All mode; you can accidently grab and replace placed landmarks​

Moveable component: lets you choose which component you want to move; the landmarks or the 3D patient​​​​

Indicate Kocher's Point on the patient with a marker

Attach Reference Marker

Attach the Head Device to head of patient according to the image in the panel

Attach Reference Marker to Head Device​

Note: first securely attach the Head Device to the patient, attach the Reference Marker to the Head Device thereafter​

​Tip: securely fixate the Reference Device on the patient's forehead with surgical tape​​

Confirm tracking accuracy of Reference Marker
Note: tracking is enabled
-
Confirm stability of tracking (see LumiNE Elite > Requirements > Tracking Stability Troubleshooting)

Verify the Reference Device by gazing at the Reference Marker until a green outline appears around the optical marker
-
Gently move your head around (make a small circle with your head) to stabilize tracking
-
Press Accept if the green outline exactly aligns with the real Reference Marker​
Options:

In case you see an ofset between the green outline and the Reference Marker, press Calibrate and move the green outline using the arrows to align the outline exactly with the Reference Marker​​​
