Release highlights Lumi v2.0.0
Fixed issues Lumi Web
-
Segmentation functionalities: The automatic segmentation functions for CT and MRI scans, previously known as Disior, have been updated and renamed to T1c (for contrast-enhanced T1-weighted MRI scans) and CTnc (for non-contrast CT scans). The available options depend on the type of scan uploaded, the user’s license, and the applicable region. Detailed information on performance is provided in the Instructions for Use (IFU).
-
Scissors tool: The precision of the scissors tool used in manual segmentation has been improved, enabling users to more accurately remove selected portions of the 3D model. (#17582)
-
IFU accessibility: Instructions for Use (IFU) are accessible from the User Guide (#18204), Instructions for Use (IFU) are accessible from the Lumi.cloud landing page making it therefore accessible for every user without the need to login first (#18933)
-
Manual segmentation: A bug was fixed that caused an incorrect warning to be shown when multiple manual segmentations were created for the same structure (#19542), a bug was fixed that previously prevented the removal of small, loose components from manually uploaded 3D models (#17891).
-
Upload failure: In case of an upload failure, an additional notification is displayed immediately to inform the user, in addition to the warning shown later during scan visualization. (#17135)
-
Revision selection: In some cases, selecting an older Revision (i.e., a previous version of a 3D Patient / Hologram) did not immediately load the selected Revision. This issue has been resolved. (#17701)
-
Import model: When the Import Model (STL) function is initiated by a user, but directly cancelled, the rotation buttons were not functioning anymore. This has been fixed (#18286)
-
Segmentation stability: Several improvements were made to improve stability when running multiple segmentations simultaneously. This prevents the loss of unsaved manual segmentation progress when an automatic segmentation completes and triggers a reload. (#16289)
-
Shape edit: For Shape Edit, a bug related to the Undo function was fixed, and lock points are now consistently maintained, even when they are positioned close together. (#16297)
-
Screenshot on patient card: A screenshot of your 3D Patient is automatically shown as a thumbnail on the patient card if you save your 3D Patient (#8925)
-
Transparent 3D Models: The stability of transparent 3D models has been improved, and transparency adjustments on HoloLens are now applied more uniformly across the full 0–100% range. (#15072)
-
Pseudonymized technical performance data: Optional collection of pseudonymized technical performance data has been introduced to help identify and prevent stability issues within the Lumi application, including the EVD workflow. This data is used solely to improve system reliability and performance and does not contain patient information or allow tracking of individual users or their activities. (#17588)
-
Cybersecurity and data protection: Cybersecurity and data protection measures have been further strengthened to ensure that the Lumi application and Augmedit services remain secure, reliable, and compliant with the latest and most stringent certification requirements for Software as a Medical Device (SaMD). (#18713)
-
Verification workflow: The scroll through slices option is automatically enabled when users start the Verification Workflow to verify 3D models. (#18822)
-
Segmentation progress: A more realistic processing time has been implemented for segmentation functions. The progress bar has been updated to include an estimated remaining time in minutes. (#19048)
-
Popup screens: Pop-up screens now automatically scale to accommodate both smaller and larger displays. This ensures that all content, including pop-ups such as the Feedback form, remains fully visible and readable on smaller laptop screens. (#19649)

Remaining issues Lumi Web
-
Special characters in names of 3D Models: 3D model (STL) files containing a "-" or "()" in the filename cannot currently be uploaded and may result in an error during import into the hologram. As a temporary workaround, please remove these characters from the filename before uploading. This limitation will be resolved in a future release. (#17095)
-
DICOM slice: When a DICOM slice is moved fully to the edge of the hologram, it may no longer be visible. As a workaround, drag the slice slightly back from the edge or adjust the slice position using the sliders to any value other than 0% or 100%. This inconvenience will be addressed in a future update. (#20777)
-
GLTF files: When uploading Gltf files with a texture folder, there are two options: drag all files in the drop zone or choose Select files and pick the files and folder(s) from the File Open Window. The last option currently does not work with texture folders. Workaround is to drag all files into the dropzone (#20913)

Fixed issues Lumi HL2
-
Automatic update Lumi HL2: The Lumi HL2 app will be updated automatically (as before) but in addition, users will now see that a new version is available. Via this notification, users can directly link to the store where they can download the newest version. (#17702)
-
Drawing: The drawing function on the AR device has been simplified, enabling users to place virtual incisions more quickly and with greater precision. (18902)
-
HoloLens performance: Notifications have been added to inform users when HoloLens performance falls below a defined threshold or when spatial recognition is temporarily lost (for example, when flipping the visor up or down, or moving between rooms). These notifications increase user awareness of the device state, allowing users to take appropriate actions to restore stable performance. (#19486)
-
Transparency of 3D Models: The stability of transparent 3D models has been improved, and transparency adjustments on HoloLens are now applied more uniformly across the full 0–100% range. (#17892)
-
Voice commands during EVD Workflow: Voice commands have been disabled during the EVD workflow to prevent minor delays and performance issues associated with continuous voice command analysis. (#18554)
-
Stable holograms: Several improvements have been implemented to ensure that holograms, panels, and menus remain in a stable position, even when the HoloLens temporarily loses spatial awareness. (#17639)
-
EVD workflow: The text in the workflow panels has been refined to ensure clear, concise, and straightforward instructions for users (#18555)
-
Visual clutter: Visual clutter has been reduced across multiple steps by removing redundant labels, text, and non-relevant UI elements. As a result, fewer visual elements are presented, improving user focus and reducing potential distractions (#19187), automatically reduce visual clutter by hiding all other landmark points while the user adjusts a selected landmark (#19277)
-
Recalibration in EVD workflow: An additional panel has been added to the EVD workflow, allowing users to initiate re-calibration directly. This removes the need to navigate back through the workflow and provides a timely reminder to perform calibration. Additionally, the option to adjust the entry point (previously available only in the final EVD panel) has been moved to this new step to reduce information overload in the last panel. (#19551)

Fixed issues Lumi Mobile
-
Visbility of smaller 3D Models: In the Lumi Mobile feature, only the smallest 3D model is displayed. This avoids situations in which a smaller 3D model would otherwise be visually obscured by a larger, opaque model. (#17690)
